Works for both real telnet BBSes and ones that are serial based but accessed via a telnet port. Ive done this as well, even though I have a fully-paid-for copy of ZOC at my disposal to connect to BBSs, I find myself firing up DOSBOX and connecting to a few BBSs through Telix or Telemate for no better reason than the fact that it was the software I used when I was in high school. When I start DOSBOX in full screen mode its as close to how it was on my 8088 as Ive seen.
